Frame of my Mind

Look, A Rainbow! 05/08/09

I redesigned. Hated the old look. At least this one is nice and colouful. Feedback welcome and appreciated. :)

Where have I been, and what have I been up to recently? Graduating with upper second class honours (all that palava with getting notes for PMS worked out), and successfully looking for work. I broke my laptop and now need to save up for a new one. The screen fell off. I didn’t pull it or anything. The hinges were gradually snapping, and then all of a sudden when I was typing it just came off. Great. Dells only just outlast their warranty, it seems. Who would’ve thought it?

I also ordered a new phone (LG Viewty Smart GC900). The upgrade failed once because I typed in my card’s security code wrong. I called them and tried the upgrade again, but so far I haven’t recived a phone, or any news. Usually Orange deliver phones next day, and it’s been a couple. Grumble.

Me and Justin have been preparing extensively to move in together, but we still haven’t found a flat yet. It’s been very hard because we didn’t know whether we would be able to find work or not. I found it, obviously, but Justin hasn’t managed to yet. If either one of us is working the other won’t get any benefits as we’re a couple, which effectively splits my wage in half. We would actually be better off both not working, then the government would pay for our accommodation. How’s that for yet another fucked up government scheme? In any case, we’re waiting until the end of August before we really start worrying. If we don’t both have work by then, my parents told us that they were willing to chip in temporarily until we sort ourselves out (but don’t tell Matthew or he’ll expect the same in three years time).

Me and Justin managed to accumulate approximately £550 in savings by eBaying a lot of Justin’s old war and role-play games and counting the pennies in our penny jars (don’t dis it, we had £55 in copper between us!), and converting my left-over yen. We reckon that’s enough to buy ourselves a nice new bed and a dining table and chairs set. :)

And just to be British, the weather has been shit lately. You wouldn’t have thought it was the middle of summer.

I love this new look. It really look rainbow-ish and colourful. The black pattern also gives it a good contrast. Plus the photos of the fruits looks bright and happy. It’s my first time seeing input fields with so many different colours. ;)

Congratulations for graduating! :D An upper second class honours is fantastic. I wish I could have at least a lower second class. Sigh.

Anyway, I’ll be waiting for photos of your new home. :D

I love the colors! Very bright and cheerful. =)

I really do hope you find an apartment soon, and that’s really horrible that you both have to be unemployed to get benefits. I hope Justin finds a job soon!

Sorry to hear about the work situation :( I hope he gets luckier soon.

Looking for a place is so difficult, everything is more expensive than seems right. I came across a big place that was about the same as the smaller ones. It was too far away, and too big, but it was a good find for positivity purposes.

Congratulations on your 2:1! Your layout is making me hungry :)
